Stuart Wells...next stop the Alice. Tired. The Thunder Run through Alice Springs started at the oddly named Blatherskite Park, located just south of Heavitree Gap.
More Blatherskiting Ex TasHOG - Viv and Gaynor. Through Heavitree Gap. The local constabulary on a suicide mission to stop the Thunder Run.
The good ship Nauteus giving way to the HOGs (as it should). In the Alice, approaching the Mall. The start of the slow ride. If anybody doubted their ability to keep pace with the snails... Where else can you relax at a sidewalk cafe and watch a Thunder Run a metre away.
Some plates need no explanation. Entering Anzac Park ready for the thrills of the boat racing in the Henley On Todd Regatta. Biker and Bikette (note the soon to be patented gooseneck pillion coupling). Bikes at the Park
More bikes at the Park. Shepparton HOG sneaking their entry into the Regatta. Young Regatta fans showing their support for non-water Outback Navy. The Henley On Todd official vessel - the good ship Pistill Dawn.
The official racing course. Fortunately the course was bone dry and dusty. The official Tourism Tasmania entry? Perhaps not. The good ship Harley, doing a mono up the course. Central Highlands Chapter allowing their kilts to fly, hoping to scare the opposition and thereby gain an unfair advantage.
They'll let anybody in here. Me, leaving, disappointed, having sought unsuccessfully to gain a 1 day pass to Liverpool Chapter luxury marquee (and some shade). The Official Tent. The final dinner venue south of Alice Springs, the Transport Museum.
A bit tricky with the railway line splitting the venue. Bike parking area. Onstage entertainment. Desert Edge Harley Davidson, Alice Springs, ready for the ride to Standley Chasm.
Anybody watch "The Alice", seen the Baa Bar? That's it, the lilac place...yes it exists. Open speed limit, nice day, no skippies, no cattle...what more could you want? River bed training to be the next venue for the Henley On Todd. The upmarket entrance to Standley Chasm. Riding tested by a road and carpark of river stones.
And it just got better. In an open speed limit, entering onto intersections can be interesting. Going... going...
gone. Flynn of the Inland Memorial. ShepHOG up to no good on the last night in the Alice. They even had their own masseuse.
Nothing to do with me, I'm just being polite and sociable. JD and Mongrel celebrating something! Junkie is somewhat mystified. ShepHOG visit to Anzac Hill High School on the last morning. Relative of a ShepHOG member is a teacher there. Slowed the start of classes somewhat.

Mal telling the students that with good study and hard work...they can still ride bikes. The kids were well pleased with the morning. The Principal wondering if the neighbourhood values will ever go up again..
